It’s a fun day here at FBP HQ. Today I get to introduce you to Alexa, FBP’s newest team member! Alexa is filling the role of Community & Event Specialist. You’ll start to see her a lot ’round these parts, so I wanted to make sure you get a chance to learn a bit about her with a good ol’ fashion Q&A session.
What’s a random fact about you?
I’m addicted to seltzer water! I’m one of those people who will totally forget to drink anything throughout the day, so having something fun and bubbly to look forward to makes it a little easier.
What would be your perfect day?
Wake up, and walk to an awesome coffee shop down the street to order my favorite Hot Turmeric Tonic tea with my boyfriend, Mark. Then we’d go to the Strip District (a neighborhood in Pittsburgh full of fun shops and restaurants) and buy ingredients for an epic meal we’ll cook for dinner! Finishing the day with an episode or two of Game of Thrones wouldn’t hurt either. 😉
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I have this Honey Mustard Broccoli & Quinoa Salad on my blog that I just adore. My parents make it for pretty much every holiday/celebration, so it has become sort of a tradition for us!
What were you up to before Food Blogger Pro?
I started my blog (Fooduzzi) in December 2014, so that has taken up the bulk of my free time since! I also graduated with an Information Systems Management major in May 2015, so I ended up taking a job at an accounting firm as an IT Auditor.
Why did you want to be part of the Food Blogger Pro team?
I’ve been a customer of Food Blogger Pro for about a year now, and I can’t say enough about how much they’ve helped me in the beginning stages of my blogging career! Specifically: Lindsay’s incredible food photography/photo editing courses! I also adore the food blogging industry, so being able to wake up and work with people who are like me and want the same things as me is just a dream come true. 🙂
What do you like to do in your free time?
Blog, cook, and eat! I love being in the kitchen, cooking for the people I love, and writing about my experiences. You can also catch me snapping whatever I’m making on Snapchat or uploading pictures to Instagram (@fooduzzi). I also make sure that I spend some quality time with Mark and our sassy kitten, Maya, every single day.
What’s your favorite recipe?
That’s a toughy, but I’m a dessert fan, so it would have to be the Peanut Butter Cup Tart that I just made for my blog! It’s essentially a giant peanut butter cup – aka. pretty much my favorite thing ever!
What’s your favorite thing about living in Pennsylvania?
I’ve traveled quite a bit, but I seriously haven’t found a place more special than Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’ve lived here almost all of my life, and I can honestly say it’s my favorite place in the world. The people here are just so passionate about their city (and sports); it’s very unique and totally awesome.
What is the most valuable life lesson you’ve ever learned?
Life is too short to not be completely, totally, and entirely in love with what you’re doing.
What’s your spirit animal?
A cat! As I’m writing this, my kitten is lying across my lap – what a life. 😉
What’s on your bucket list?
Writing a cookbook! Since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to see my name on a print book. I just think it would be the coolest thing ever.
What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?
I tried tripe when I was in Italy! Needless to say, I am now a vegetarian. 😉
If you’re hanging around the FBP forums or chatting on Intercom be sure to give a warm welcome to Alexa!
